The Starving Artist
"Its like giving it a new face"
When we clean a oil painting we are removing the past and allowing the painting to breath again.
Airborne oil and smoke damage the pigments of the painting and by cleaning the painting
we are able to bring back what the artist intended when it was painted.
The first thing we do is remove all the surface damage by using oil painting cleaner and then check for additional damage.
Most painting are able to be re-varnished after the painting has been allowed to rest.
Some paintings may need some restoration.
We will explain what is needed and how the restoration needed to be done.
Most minor restoration can be done in-house, but major restoration may have to be sent out
to restorer to re-line the canvas and restore the lost image.
